Prescriptions

Ordering Repeat Prescriptions

There are three ways that you can request your repeat prescriptions:

  • Via the NHS app (or by signing into your NHS account online). You can set up your NHS log-in here.

  • Contact your nominated pharmacy.

  • Contact the prescription team by email: hiowicb-hsi.prescriptions.oaks@nhs.net

We process prescriptions by computer and sent to your nominated pharmacy. We do not accept paper requests for prescriptions or issue paper prescriptions.

If submitting your request by email, please include your:

  • Name
  • Date of birth
  • Medication name and dosage
  • Nominated pharmacy

Prescription requests can take 3 to 5 working days. As part of your prescription request, we may ask you to attend a medication review. This may involve a blood test, or telephone consultation with your GP.

To change your nominated pharmacy, please contact the practice by telephone.

Questions About Your Prescriptions

If you have any questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists are able to assist. They can answer queries about medications bought without a prescription.

The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, when to take it and possible side effects. Go to Medicines A – Z (nhs.uk) here.

If you would like to speak to a member of your pharmacy team, please contact the practice by telephone. You can also contact the prescription team by email: hiowicb-hsi.prescriptions.oaks@nhs.net

Find Your Nearest Local Pharmacy

You can find your local nearest pharmacy using the NHS ‘Find a Pharmacy’ tool here.

Your Prescription: Your Choice

You can collect prescribed medicines that you have from any pharmacy you choose. Do not be influenced by letters you receive in the post, or by any doctor or pharmacist.
