Covid-19 Vaccination
COVID-19 vaccination is an important part of protecting yourself if you’re at increased risk of getting seriously ill from COVID-19.
The COVID-19 vaccines are offered because viruses change and protection fades over time. It’s important to top up your protection if you’re eligible.
Who should have the COVID-19 vaccination?
The COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for people at increased risk from COVID-19.
You may be offered a COVID-19 vaccine if you:
- are aged 65 or over
- are pregnant
- are aged 6 months to 64 years and have an increased risk of getting seriously ill from COVID-19 because of a health condition or treatment
live in a care home for older adults. A full list of the health conditions included can be found here. - are a frontline health or social care worker
How to get a COVID-19 vaccination?
The practice has now finished its 2024 autumn campaign for COVID-19 vaccinations. If you are eligible and would like to receive a vaccination, you can find a walk-in vaccination site local to you on the NHS website here.
Flu Vaccination
The flu vaccine is recommended for people at higher risk of getting seriously ill from flu.
It’s offered on the NHS every year in autumn or early winter.
Who should have the flu vaccination?
You can get the free NHS flu vaccine if you:
- are aged 65 or over (including those who will be 65 by 31 March 2025)
- have certain long-term health conditions
- are pregnant
- live in a care home
- are the main carer for an older or disabled person, or receive a carer’s allowance
- live with someone who has a weakened immune system
- are a frontline health or social care worker.
If you are not eligible for a free flu vaccination, you can attend most pharmacies and pay to receive one.
How to get a flu vaccination?
The practice’s 2024 autumn campaign for flu vaccinations is coming to an end. We have limited stock available, and welcome patients to contact the practice by telephone to enquire about availability.
